What we collect

When you join The Fam, take the assessment, apply to a cohort, give, or subscribe, we collect what you share — name, email, and the answers you provide. We collect basic analytics (pages, referrers, device) to keep the site fast and useful.

02

How we use it

To run the movement: send you what you asked for, place you in the right community or cohort, process gifts, and improve our guides and shows. We do not sell your data. Ever.

03

Email & communication

If you subscribe, we email you. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe. Transactional messages (gift receipts, cohort logistics) are sent regardless of marketing preferences.

04

Cookies & analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics and the minimum cookies required to run the site. You can block cookies in your browser without breaking core functionality.

05

Third-party platforms

We point you toward Discord, WhatsApp, and other platforms. Once you are there, their privacy policies govern your data. Read them.

06

Cairn in Slack

Cairn is theChurch.digital's Ai. If your Slack workspace adds Cairn, we keep your workspace's name and ID, the app's access token (encrypted), the channel your admin chose for the daily devotional, and the care contact they named (encrypted), until your workspace removes Cairn, which deletes them. To answer you, Cairn remembers the last few messages of a conversation for up to 48 hours, under a scrambled key; send DELETE to erase them at once. What you send Cairn is processed by an Ai model to answer you, and checked for signs someone may be in danger. If a Slack workspace named a care contact, and a message to Cairn suggests a member may be in danger, we tell that contact the member's Slack name and the time, never what they wrote. If you subscribe to the daily devotional, we keep that until you send STOP. If you link Slack to your HEAR Journal, the link is deleted when your workspace removes Cairn; your entries stay yours. Slack's privacy policy also applies, and depending on your plan, your workspace's admins may be able to see or export messages.

07

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

08

Children

The site is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
